Background & Bio
Joel joins Bowditch Marine with over two decades of experience in marine surveying, new construction and ship repair. He has served as the Program Manager at BAE Systems, San Francisco Ship Repair, Mare Island Dry Dock Ship Repair, and General Dynamics NASSCO San Diego. In these positions, he was responsible for planning and executing surveys, docking and undocking evolutions involving a variety of commercial ships and craft. Joel executed dry docking of U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships, and commercial vessels. In these positions, he surveyed ships, directed ship repairs, managed budgets, coordinated material acquisition, provided reports to the customer, and was responsible for project safety, budget, schedule and quality. He holds a USCG Third Navigation Officer, Unlimited License, and Commercial hardhat diver-welder. Joel served two tours in Afghanistan in the US Navy and was awarded several commendation medals for his leadership.Back to Overview
